Now that you have beautiful new luxury vinyl flooring, be sure to follow these easy maintenance steps to keep your floor looking great for many years:
Regular Cleaning:
-Sweep, dust mop or vacuum the floor to remove all loose dirt and grit (daily or as needed).
-Avoid pre-treated dust mops as they can leave a film on your floor.
-Lightly damp mop with a well-wrung mop or rag. Water will usually take care of regular maintenance cleaning however, we do carry a neutral PH vinyl cleaner to use as necessary for tougher spots.
-Avoid using soap based detergents, abrasive mops or brooms, floor wax, ammonia, or vacuum cleaners with a rotating beater bar.
-If a stain or spill occurs, wipe up with a damp rag. If that does not remove the stain, use a neutral based PH vinyl cleaner diluted with water and rub gently with a soft cloth to remove.
Additional Protection:
-Use extreme care when moving heavy objects or furniture across the floor.
-Wherever possible, use walk of mats at entrances and doorways.
-Use felt pad protectors under furniture legs.
-No need to apply an after-market finish but overtime if your high traffic areas lose their luster, a thin coat of floor polish may be used. See your manufacturer’s specifications.
